AAA Engineering
For more than 20 years, AAA has been engineering retarders to meet customer needs. We take pride in being the industry leader, designing the most robust equipment on the market with seamless integration into our customer’s existing systems. We continually improve our retarders (e.g. updating metal chemistry, seal composition, surface finish, surface hardness, processes and procedures) to provide the best retarder life at a competitive price.
Our retarder designs include more than standard classification yard retarders. We provide custom solutions to the industrial market, securing railcars and providing indication to railcar handling computers to facilitate efficient and safe loading and unloading. Engineering includes not only mechanical engineers but staff with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and PLC software experience. We can design the equipment you need. We solve rail yard problems.
AAA does not sell a product. We sell a solution. From the onset of a project, Engineering works with Sales and frequently travels to customer locations to fully understand the client’s problem or desire for improved efficiency. Engineering, like all of AAA, is centered around customer service. Depending on the complexity of the issue, we will hold as many customer design reviews as necessary to ensure that our client gets the solution he / she needs in as short a time as possible. Engineering maintains close contact with the customer, Manufacturing, Sales, and Quality to ensure that a cost conscious, quality solution is found for each customer.
AAA is large enough to have the resources to solve complex problems and small enough to respond quickly to customer needs. When customer requirements change, Engineering works with all departments to update designs in a timely, cost efficient manner. All projects are monitored and controlled through our ISO 9001 procedures.
Engineering Software
To ensure the most cost efficient, durable designs, the Engineering Team utilizes:
AutoCAD Inventor – State of the art solid modeling and 2 dimensional mechanical drawing software.
Ansys – Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software for optimizing the use of material.
Live Wire – Circuit design software.
PCB Wizard – Circuit board design software.
